More than 30,000 disconnect switches and grounding blades currently in service in more than 80 countries around the world
Virtually maintenance-free.
Main blade
The main blade is made of an aluminum tube with silver-plated copper contacts at both ends. When the disconnect switch is closed, the main blade performs a two-step motion: first, the main blade lowers until it reaches a completely horizontal position, and then it rotates so that contact pressure is applied at both ends of the disconnect switch.
The main contacts feature an “inverted loop” design, which makes them suitable for very high short-circuit currents. Anti-corona shields are provided.
Grounding blades
Hapam disconnect switches can be equipped with grounding blades installed on the right and/or left side.
The grounding blade consists of an aluminum tube fitted with silver-plated contacts at both ends.
