RECLOSERS
Application
The Rec series of automatic reclosers are designed for use on overhead lines in medium-voltage radial, ring, and interconnected distribution networks.
The primary function of automatic reclosers is to provide automatic reclosing cycles to clear transient faults and minimize grid downtime. In addition to improving reliability and reducing the System Average Interruption Duration Index (SAIDI), the System Average Interruption Frequency Index (SAIFI), and the Mean Average Interruption Frequency Index (MAIFI),
The Rec series reclosers offer a wide range of built-in communication features and enhance visibility for the grid operator.
With more than 20 years of experience in pole-mounted vacuum recloser technology, Tavrida Electric offers a best-in-class solution in terms of reliability, safety, and ease of installation.
- Sophisticated Control and Protection
Tavrida Electric’s reclosers offer protection against various faults, including: short circuits, ground faults, high-impedance ground faults, broken conductors, islanding, incorrect switch operations, grid overload, and over- or undergeneration. The integrated RTU and meter ensure that the reclosers are compatible with the SCADA system at no additional cost.
- TELARM® Dispatcher and Dual-SCADA
TELARM® Dispatcher is a proprietary remote monitoring and control system that operates as a standalone SCADA system and/or in parallel with an existing SCADA system, serving as an auxiliary method for controlling and monitoring reclosers. TELARM® Dispatcher offers several features not available in most conventional SCADA systems, such as remote access to system logs, fault and load profiles, and remote control of protection settings.
- Excellent value for the price
With a maintenance-free design capable of handling 30,000 on-off operations, the costs associated with Tavrida Electric’s reclosers remain low throughout the equipment’s service life. They are installed on standard overhead feeders, which significantly improves a grid’s key performance indicators and operational results, leading to a rapid return on investment.
Cutting module for outdoor use
- The air-insulated switching module incorporates a vacuum circuit breaker from Tavrida Electric with a phase-by-phase magnetic actuator housed in a tank made of corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy. Six main circuit insulators made of UV-stable polymer and fully encased in silicone rubber sleeves. Each insulator features integrated current and voltage sensors for protection, measurement, and indication purposes.
- Cutting module equipped with six high-voltage insulators with integrated current and voltage sensors. Current is detected using Rogowski coil sensors. Capacitive sensors are used to measure the voltage across the six insulators.
- Tavrida Electric manufactures vacuum circuit breakers that combine compact dimensions with a long mechanical and electrical service life. The use of a specifically designed axial magnetic field distribution provides uniform current density across the contact surface and, consequently, significantly higher vacuum interrupting performance. Carefully selected contact material, a specialized contact design, and an optimized gap ensure bounce-free closing.
- Circuit-breaker module equipped with Tavrida Electric’s innovative vacuum circuit breaker. Tavrida Electric has simplified the mechanical structure of the vacuum circuit breaker as much as possible. It uses three single-coil magnetic actuators, one per pole. All the breaking elements of a single pole are mounted along a single shaft. All mechanical movements are therefore direct and linear. The three actuators are mounted on a steel frame and mechanically linked by a synchronizing rod.
- There is a mechanical actuator hook located at the bottom of the tank. The cutting module remains locked and cannot operate until the actuator hook is pushed back to the operating position.
RC_05 Recloser Control Cabinet
- Protection
The recloser provides protection against overcurrent, ground faults, overvoltage and undervoltage, overfrequency and underfrequency, current and voltage imbalances, and many other problems.
- Measurements
The recloser can measure phase, neutral, and sequence currents; phase-to-phase and sequence voltages; and three-phase active and reactive power and energy. Key measurement data can be recorded.
- Communications
The control cabinet features several communication interfaces and can be connected to any third-party modem via RS-232/RS-485 or Ethernet using various communication protocols, including Modbus, DNP3, and IEC-104.
- High-capacity battery
Battery with a 48-hour runtime, rechargeable with a smart battery charger, and maintenance-free for up to 10 years.
- Monitoring
Extremely comprehensive, independently maintained log files that can be accessed remotely, including load and failure profiles, events, faults, service life, and replacement messages.
- Control Cabinet
The recloser control cabinet is made of powder-coated, anodized aluminum
The control panel features a 6-line, 40-character graphic LCD display that clearly shows events
- User Software
The Tavrida Electric Automated Relay Manager (TELARM) software is designed to meet the specific needs of electric distribution networks. It allows you to:
